A screening of The Fisher King will be followed by an insightful talkback with screenwriter Richard LaGravenese; discussing the film and his process this August as part of the Chain NYC Film Festival.

Shock jock Jack Lucas (Jeff Bridges) inadvertently provokes a caller into murdering a group of innocent people. After sinking into depression and hitting rock bottom, he meets the homeless and mentally unstable Parry (Robin Williams) who is searching for the Holy Grail. The two begin their quest amid the gritty backdrop of New York in the early 90's. Featuring spectacular performances from it's entire cast, including Amanda Plummer and an Academy Award winning performance by Mercedes Ruehl.
The Fisher King was Richard LaGravenese's first screenplay when he teamed up with Terry Gilliam in 1991 and the film has captivated audiences for over 25 years. Richard LaGravenese is an accomplished writer and director for film and television including; The Bridges of Madison County, Freedom Writers, P.S. I Love You, A Little Princess, and HBO’s Behind the Candelabra.
